Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 • Last Updated: August 2026
1. Introduction
At MyNetSpeedCheck (accessible from https://mynetspeedcheck.com), one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information that is collected and recorded by MyNetSpeedCheck and how we utilize it.
If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, please contact us at privacy@mynetspeedcheck.com.
2. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
We use Google AdSense and third-party advertising partners to serve advertisements when you visit our website. Google is a third-party vendor on our site and uses cookies, web beacons, and related tracking technologies to serve ads to users based on their prior visits to MyNetSpeedCheck and other websites on the Internet.
Important Google AdSense Disclosures:
- Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve personalized and non-personalized advertisements to our visitors based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the www.aboutads.info Consumer Choice Page or the Your Online Choices portal (EU visitors).
Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons in their respective advertisements and links that appear on MyNetSpeedCheck. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see.
Note that MyNetSpeedCheck has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.
3. Information We Collect & Speed Test Telemetry
When you execute an internet speed test on MyNetSpeedCheck, our system automatically processes technical metrics strictly required to measure your connection quality:
- Network Performance Telemetry: Measured download speed (Mbps), upload speed (Mbps), latency/ping (ms), jitter variance (ms), and bufferbloat ratings.
- IP Address & Geolocation: Used transiently to detect your approximate geographic region (City/Country) and Autonomous System Number (ASN) to select the closest test node and identify your Internet Service Provider (ISP). We do not store precise physical street locations.
- Browser & Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution to adapt the canvas speedometer rendering engine.
We do not require user registration, email logins, phone numbers, or credit card details to use our core diagnostic tools.
4. Log Files & Web Analytics
MyNetSpeedCheck follows standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
5. GDPR Privacy Rights (Data Protection for EU Visitors)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), European Union residents are entitled to specific data protection rights:
- The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.

7. Children's Information (COPPA)
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
MyNetSpeedCheck does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
8. Cookies, Web Beacons & How Cookies Are Placed
Cookies and related browser storage technologies are placed on your device through several technical mechanisms when you access and navigate MyNetSpeedCheck:
Client-Side Storage (First-Party)
MyNetSpeedCheck uses HTML5 localStorage directly within your browser to save your recent speed test benchmark runs and UI preferences. This data remains on your physical device and is never transmitted to external third-party tracking databases.
Third-Party Scripts & HTTP Headers
When Google AdSense scripts load within your browser, Google's advertising servers transmit HTTP Set-Cookie response headers and execute JavaScript to place advertising identifier cookies (such as __gads, __gpi, and DoubleClick DART cookies) to deliver personalized ads and prevent fraud.
Web Beacons & Pixel Tags
Third-party ad networks may utilize tiny transparent 1×1 pixel images (web beacons) embedded within ad creatives to record ad impressions, verify ad delivery, and evaluate campaign effectiveness without storing identifiable user profiles on our servers.
Session vs. Persistent Cookies
Session cookies expire automatically as soon as you close your browser window, while persistent cookies remain on your device for a predetermined period (or until deleted manually) to remember your preferences across repeat visits.
You can control, block, or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings or via opt-out portals such as Google Ads Settings and AboutAds.info.
